Important Notice: Rabies Vaccination Policy to comply with Tennessee State Law and ensure the safety of all patients, clients, and staff, Volunteer Veterinary Clinic, Inc. enforces a strict rabies vaccination policy.
Policy Requirements: Mandatory Proof: You must provide an official rabies certificate from a licensed veterinarian. Rabies tags on collars are not accepted as valid proof. Age Requirement: All dogs and cats over six months of age must be current on their rabies vaccination.
Up-to-Date Status: Vaccines must be active. Expired vaccines require a booster before services can be rendered.
How to Submit Proof: Please send your pet's official rabies certificate before your scheduled appointment using one of the following methods:

Arrival Without Proof (Grace Period): If you arrive for your appointment without proof of vaccination, we offer a 15-minute grace period to obtain it.
You or your previous veterinarian must email or text the certificate to us within this window. If proof cannot be verified within 15 minutes, your appointment will need to be rescheduled, and a cancellation fee may apply.
Policy Exemptions Medical Waivers: If your pet cannot be vaccinated due to an underlying medical condition, you must submit a signed medical exemption waiver from your veterinarian prior to arrival.
